Inside the barrier reef the water is flat and the fishing is steady — snapper, grouper, jack and barracuda, mostly on light tackle, with a guide who has fished these patch reefs his whole life.
It suits families and first-timers: nobody gets seasick, everybody catches something, and you are back before the heat of the afternoon. Whatever you keep can go to the La Cala kitchen or into your own suite's kitchen that evening.
