The Belize Barrier Reef — the largest in the northern hemisphere — sits about a mile off our dock. Almost everything worth doing on Ambergris Caye starts on the water, and most of it can be booked at the front desk the day before.
Snorkelling and diving the reef
Half-day snorkel trips run to Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley, twenty minutes south by boat. Divers head to the reef wall or, on a longer day, out to the Blue Hole and Turneffe Atoll.
Boats pick up from the White Sands Cove dock, so there is no taxi into town at 7am.
Sailing, fishing and the flats
Sunset catamaran sails, private charters, and fly fishing the flats for bonefish, permit and tarpon. Deep-sea trips for snapper and grouper come back in time for the kitchen to cook your catch.
Jungle and Mayan ruins
A short flight to the mainland opens up cave tubing, zip lines, the Belize Zoo and the Mayan sites at Altun Ha, Lamanai and Xunantunich. Our concierge and our sister company, Floreo Travel, put these together as full day trips or multi-day jungle-and-sea packages.
Slower days
Paddleboards and kayaks off the dock, a golf cart into San Pedro for the markets and the bakeries, Secret Beach on the west side of the island, or nothing at all beyond the pool and a book.

- How far is the Belize Barrier Reef from the resort?
- Roughly a mile offshore. Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley are about twenty minutes by boat from our dock.
- Can you book tours for us?
- Yes. Our concierge books snorkelling, diving, fishing, sailing and mainland day trips with local operators we work with year-round, and can have them scheduled before you land.
- Do we need a golf cart?
- Not necessarily — the resort has a restaurant, pool and dock — but a cart makes San Pedro and the northern beaches easy. We can have one waiting on arrival.
